The Chess Game

As the players move their pieces across the chess board, first the white pieces and then the black. As the skill level of each opponent is put to the test. Some opponents will move swiftly and confidently across the board. While others will take their time to observe their enemies weaknesses.

Time is not important when playing this game, only skill matters and patience in outwitting your opponent. It is a stage, where only the seasoned will survive. In some cases this game is only a game and the stakes are small. Other times, there is so much more at stake first revealed. Each piece can represent a person in play. It gives one a glimpse into their opponents mind. What they value and what they don't.

What they will sacrifice and what they will fight for? In some ways, it can be like a poker game with learning to conceal your true feelings and emotions. In other ways, it is definitely the art of war and strategy. When waging war, there are various tactical manuevers to keep in mind; to throw your enemy off balance. The stage has been set, now to see how many moves are really left to be played.

It's A Jungle Out There Baby!

One of the biggest reasons people should adult up, is to be able to survive different situations that LIFE might throw at you! In our world, there is domestic violence, mental abuse to both children and adults alike. Sad, but this is our reality! The abuse thing cuts through all social classes. Some bruises, might or might not be visible.

One must have skill in this tool box of personal knowledge would be learning about money. By learning how to handle money, an education that is not taught in any school that I know of. Bookkeeping would be the closest to money skills that I know of; and I would personally look at that as a foundation. The best place to learn some of these skills would be a library.

Another must have skill would be Law. Some schools have this class, Business Law is what you would want to take. This class can be used in real life and your own business should you decide to have one. Having your own business would be a real plus. It would allow you to have financial freedom. Getting back to the subject of Law classes, the next class would be to take Criminal Justice. Why you might ask would you want to take this class? Once you understand how this law applies to your life. It will open up your eyes to what your rights are and aren't. Criminal Justice Law is very black and white. There is no wiggle room for argument, unlike Business Law.

Psychology which is a class only taught at a College level or University. Why, it will help you understand dysfunctional relationships. You'll really start to understand the people in your life, be they family, friends or acquaintances. This is not saying that you have to like these people. It will give you some incite as to how they became the way they did. Marriage and Family is another class, it will explain a view of intimate relationships. Sort of the life cycle of a family.

Every adult should have their own money. No co-mingling of assets or money. This way if your in an abusive situation or relationship you will have an out. This gives you choices. Life should always be about choices. Otherwise, its sort of like living in a prison camp. People that have never experienced any sort of abuse in their lives might find this to be extreme. All I can say, is the reality of life is that there is no Prince or Princess that's going to sweep you off your feet and live a Happily Ever After.  Great ending to a book, but not a reality as we know it.

Every person should step up and take responsibility for you life. You are responsible for your own happiness, not anyone else. Be sure to make your life the best life you can have.

Failure

Most people look at this as a bad thing. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many famous people have failed before they had great break throughs of success. Failure is just a learning curve, where there might be missing steps or knowledge that we have not achieved. Sometimes it can mean that at this time in our life; we might not have those skills, steps or met the people that have those skills yet.

If you've ever attempted to try something again that you might have failed at in the past. You reflect on where things went off the rails. Maybe it was money, skills or steps. Because you have a base or a foundation from the past. You can look at the steps that went wrong and make correction strategies; on how you can handle or prevent those from happening again. This gives us an edge that others might have had to learn from.

Every person's learning experience is different. We are all different individuals with different skill sets. Real estate has its own learning curves. If your a painter, plumber, electrician or contractor. You have a pre-laid game plan going into investment property that others might not have. These are skills that minimize your risks up front.

Other things in life, depending on your personal experiences or your knowledge will give you an edge over other people in other areas. Failure doesn't always mean that we will fail again when we try something again. Sometimes it can be an economic thing that was beyond our control. The thing is to learn from our mistakes and failure and come up with other strategies to have different results and minimize our personal risks.

Recognize your strengths and weaknesses. If you've not great at something hire someone who has that skill set.

Life

Some where a long the way, people came to this unfortunate conclusion that it's not ok to make mistakes. So they practically wrap their kids in bubble wrap or have a safety net for them. They never allow them to make even the most basic mistake.

Even famous people through out history have made mistakes. Some times numerous time. Without these mistakes they would have never learned what does and does not work. These are all part of the right of passage in the game of life. Without these learning experiences, small things suddenly become these blown out of proportion life changing experiences that cause lots of unnecessary drama and stress.

Mistakes are part of learning survival and growing skills. No one knows everything. This misconception that mistakes are bad is what is causing the younger generations to over react an commit suicide or stress out over things that are easily fixed. When you deny people these learning  opportunities; your are stealing from them an opportunity to learn something valuable about themselves. You not allowing them to learn problem solving skills.

You in essence teaching them that their failures and not smart enough to solve their own life problems. This unfortunately makes the situation worse. The reason people make mistakes or encounter problems is to teach them small solutions from a young age; so they are able to handle adult solutions to problems as they become adults. To have more confidence in themselves and less stress.

Without these progressions, these people are unprepared for life and have a bigger learning curve. They must take steps backwards to learn some of; if not all of the basics that they were denied learning to begin with.
