I've met many parents, who are dream crushers of their children. They are so focused on their children being successful that they never listen to the interests of their children. Our World is always changing, and no one is 100% sure where the careers or jobs will go tomorrow.
Something that seemed silly, might be huge money maker in the future. Being miserable in a job that you hate just to pay the bills can be incredibly draining mentally, physically and emotionally. When you are really happy in your job it really doesn't seem like work. It just flows effortlessly from the individuals and it touches others in the way its meant too.
No one has a right to expect another person to live their life for someone else. I remember someone I worked with wanted her son to become a programmer rather than a game designer. She was so focused on her own point of view that she couldn't see her son being successful as a game designer. I remember saying to her that she didn't have a right to force her goals on her son when that might not be his passion. The thing is that we all contribute to society in different ways and by trying to control another person you are stripping of their right to have free will.
Imagine someone saying to Benjamin Franklin, now don't try to figure out electricity you'll only look stupid and get burned! I'm sure Benjamin Franklin didn't have a lot of people cheering him on in the beginning.

It feels very exciting and fresh! It almost has a crisp feel to it. I'm waiting for the next chapter to be written. Each one of us is part of history and yet we never think of it that way. We just go about our day. It seems that only when we read what has been written. What we've experienced that we question it and say how did they get that?
