Passions

I am finding that as time goes by you acquire more and more passions. They start out as a taste here and there before you know it they have taken root as strong opinions. I've worked in many industries. I have since learned from those experiences.

Fashion will slowly creep into that category, but if you work in it for a while you will suddenly find that those shoes that you would have normally just liked. Now you must have them and all reason starts to go out the window. Same with clothes.

Here's the really weird part. Once your not part of that industry, you suddenly become a sane rational person again. You can walk by them and not obsessed with them. It's really funny how we can rationalize some of these things when we're surrounded by them. I think, I've had the most amazing experiences. Some I'm glad are done. Some were growth experiences.

Then we have our friends. Some are DRAMA all over the place, and others are vanilla they are always at status quo. Then you have the quirky person in your life they either look at life as having a sense of humor. You might even have that fiesty person in your life who stands up for themself and is not a door mat.

Whatever your passions may be people, causes, give them a great big hug and embrace what makes you stand out. After all this is YOU!

Family

Recently, I had a family member come into town unexpectedly. I had the best time in a long time with them. I got to appreciate the time spent with them. It was almost like savoring a fine chocolate. We had fun and did things. I hadn't seen them in almost 5 yrs.

It was less hussle and bussle. I actually didn't have to worry about my schedule like I usually did before. I actually got to enjoy their company. I don't think, I'd had truly this much fun with them since about the '70's. It's interesting how life or I really should say work tends to make us choose between it or family.

In other cultures, I don't think they let work intrude this much in their lives. Here it starts out by choosing which funerals we will attend? Like somehow it's more justifiable to attend closer family funerals than say a cousins funeral. I hope that as time goes by that I'm always able to keep family close instead of at a distance.

Time

One thing that I've noticed this week is that time seems to be poking along. I've looked at my watch and it seems like it should be hour later than it is. I first started noticing it yesterday and thought well maybe it's a fluke. I'll have to see if this seems to be continuing.

I'm am more jazzed about 2010. I'm glad that we are starting fresh. Last year, the energy seemed to be more about tearing down the old. It will be interesting to see it this trend continues into 2012. Usually my days seem to fly. I am having more fun actually enjoying the slower pace. It's refreshing to be able to have your day go at a leasurely pace.
